Eagle County has begun trail design planning at the Water Tank Trail in Homestead. They have flagged a potential alignment, creating switchbacks and swales to manage water and erosion, while staying inside the current easement. The current steep grade and alignment (lack of switchbacks and features) will continue to erode the trail. Their goal is to create a sustainable trail that meets the needs of current and future trail users, while also protecting the soil, water, and vegetation of Homestead HOA’s land.
