The Homestead Design Review Committee (DRC) consists of five committee members whose objective is to enforce design standards, policies, and practices that promote aesthetics, encourage economic vitality, and enhance the desirability of the community. The DRC ensures that all proposed changes meet Homestead’s Design Review Committee guidelines and protects the value of all property within the community, giving appropriate consideration to the impact of particular development, while respecting, to the degree possible consistent with such protection, the preferences of the owners of the property being developed. Homeowners must apply to make any changes to the exterior of their property including new construction, alterations, remodels, additions, decks, patios, color changes, landscaping, fences, swing sets, trampolines, etc. If you would like to make a change to your property, please fill out the DRC Application for Changes or DRC Application for New Construction, Additions and Remodels and submit along with a completed Neighbor Notification Form to the DRC office at least 15 days prior to the meeting to be placed on the agenda. A Best Practices for DRC and Commonly Asked Questions document was recently created to provide owners with additional insight on DRC proposals. The Design Review Committee meetings generally occur on the second Friday of each month at 9am.
