Stage 1 Fire Restrictions begin 6/18/21

A Message From Eagle River Fire Protection District on 6/15/21:

During today’s fire restrictions call, it was determined that Eagle County will move into Stage 1 fire restrictions as of 0001 am on Friday, June 18th. This is for all areas of unincorporated Eagle County, as well as the USFS and BLM (BLM is actually going into restrictions at midnight tonight). The flyers in both English and Spanish are below; please share and encourage your friends and neighbors to sign up for phone, text & email emergency notifications at www.ECAlert.org. We also encourage all residents to schedule a free personalized assessment to learn how your home and landscaping may be susceptible to wildfire, as well as specific actions you can take to reduce wildfire threat in your community. Contact ERFPD’s Wildland Mitigation Specialist, Jeff Zechman, at [email protected] or (970) 471-2796.

Garfield County (Friday), Pitkin County (today), Rio Blanco County (tomorrow), Moffat (tomorrow), Summit County (Friday), will also enact fire restrictions, just on varying timelines as indicated. Hopefully this will make it much easier to communicate to the public.

Current fire danger is EXTREME. There is the potential for dry lightning Thursday-Sunday.
